Our client has a unique platform that gives online retailers and other partners the ability to offer discounts to authenticated students. Those students can then avail of similar offers on a network of our client’s partner sites giving our client a unique ability to influence and direct their buying power. They have 2/3rds of the students in the UK using the platform and are experiencing massive growth in the US.
In the role of Partnership Development Director, you will be managing a select portfolio of 15-25 top tier, high-profile global brands for whom they generate millions in student sales a year. These brands and companies are the likes of Apple, Microsoft, Urban Outfitters, Hotels.com and Zipcar.
Your are highly strategic. You are an evangelist, thought leader and trusted advisor for developing successful student programs. Using their proven playbook but also leveraging your own commercial creativity, you will develop strategies that help convert the next generation of customers to our partners. These characteristics make you a natural leader.
You thrive on meeting and exceeding revenue targets. This is a proactive, high intensity role with a strong sales component – you are a quota carrier. You are passionate, polished and articulate. You will grow our partnerships exponentially as we have been doing year-over-year in every country we operate. Working closely with Senior Marketing and Business Teams at each partner brand, you will be looking to maximize sales performance for your client across digital and physical storefronts. To guarantee consistent ROI growth of your portfolio, you will create and execute compelling account plans, partner internally to create marketing programs using our own media channels to our rapidly growing 8M + student members.

You are tasked with ensuring that students we are front of mind all year round. You will create and build direct lines with direct senior lines with the people who tasked with delivering on company goals.
You are an expert on your partner, their industry and their competitors. You will be expected to gain a deep understanding of each brand (often very large complex businesses), their goals, their org charts and their pain points and leverage every opportunity possible to achieve your gross student sales target.
Day To Day Responsibilities
Drive performance for your portfolio
Collaborate with teams to develop better ways of doing things
Be deeply analytical and understand the importance data plays when pitching a compelling story and informing future strategies
Hit campaign sales goals based on building big scale, globally ambitious plans with the appropriate ROI
Develop a strong omnichannel, retail component for your partners’ student program
Own contract negotiations, getting agreements and renewals executed in the quickest possible time
Demonstrate strong negotiation skills sometimes at CEO level
Work with CEOs, CMOs and senior business leaders to develop business critical global strategies that rapidly grow partner revenue year on year
Ensure strong visibility of the student program on partner channels (in-store, online, app etc)
Help partners break new international territories such as the UK, Asia and Europe
Expert at building strong relationships across a broad base of people from the CEO down
Create compelling presentations and have confidence in your pitch
Be disciplined in setting call and meeting schedules with key people at the brands
Ensure regular performance reports are created and distributed
Cultivate strong internal relationships with key support teams across technical, marketing and creative
Look for pragmatic ways relationships with large global brands can develop – co-marketing, new business lines, product innovation
Be an ambassador for the firm at all times.
