VP of Marketing – Blockchain Powered Auctions

Our client is reinventing the arts and collectibles auction house. Built with blockchain technology and a network of experts, the company is decentralizing auctions, authentications, and appraisals. Their team is excited to be pioneering the crypto commerce revolution and is looking for a VP of Marketing to define the company’s strategy, evangelize their message, and help reach target growth goals. Our client is seeking an expert who can roll up their sleeves and help the brand build the foundation of the house. This critical team member will not only drive significant growth, but will also be integral in building out a world class team of marketers.

The Role:

As our client’s first internal hire on the marketing team, you are going to be laser focused on defining and driving their brand and growth strategies. The VP of Marketing should be an expert at developing brands, planning campaigns, and leading marketing activations. As an analytical storyteller, the VP of Marketing will have the creative chops to build an engaging brand story while measuring effectiveness and refining tactics based on the data. This role carries the imperative opportunity to build out the ideal marketing while simultaneously hand selecting best in class agency partners. This opportunity comes with a critical need for a genuine leader. The right individual for this role needs to have a clear strategy and also have a desire to be hands on and execute. Despite our client’s early success in fundraising, the executive team members wear many hats to accomplish the company’s goals by any means necessary.


Brand strategy

  • Develop the brand voice, visual id, and messaging
  • Build a story that creates a cult following
  • Own creative strategies and processes

Campaign ownership

  • Create overall campaign and strategy to drive engagement
  • Identify key advertising and promotional channels and benchmark effectiveness against KPIs
  • Build activation plans
  • Oversee copy and design with agency partners and internal team members

Content Creation

  • Create engaging thought leadership content
  • Help build promotional materials

Team Development & Hiring:

  • Build and manage your dream team to achieve growth and KPIs
  • Own training and onboarding of team members

Customer Insights:

  • Utilize market research and other data resources to mine data to best understand our client’s customers
  • Provide reports for campaign effectiveness

Digital Oversight:

  • Build multi-channel engagement strategy
  • Track leads, conversions, and other key KPIs
  • Have complete ownerships of marketing budget and funds allocation

Agency Partner Management

  • Select agency partners and manage ongoing partner relationships
  • Prioritize and engage with new partners
  • Provide solid guidelines for agency partners to adhere


  • 8+ years of experience working with marketplaces and/or ecommerce
  • Experience in luxury goods and/or arts and collectibles is preferred
  • Degree in marketing, business, finance, or related, MBA preferred
  • Experience managing a team of 4+
  • Analytically minded and adept at strategic thinking
  • Experience with:
  • Online Platforms (Facebook, GDN, AAP), Web Analytics (Eg. Google analytics, Mixpanel), Conversion Optimization (Eg. Optimizely, Hotjar) and experience with Excel and BI tools (Eg. Tableau) a must
  • A passion for innovation and changing the status quo
