Solution Engineer, Enterprise – Extended Warranties as a Service / Product Protection Technology

Our client is modernizing the $100 billion-per-year extended warranty and protection plan industry using cutting-edge technology, and top-notch customer service. After a $260M Series C financing round, they are ready to continue to scale their organization and grow beyond their $1.6B valuation. Their API-first solution allows any merchant to offer extended warranties and protection plans, both online and offline, while also providing a merchant’s end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters.

The company is a venture-backed startup based in downtown San Francisco (and since COVID began, fully remote) that is led by founders who have previously had multiple successful exits.


  • Lead technical discussions and provide industry-leading practices for merchant partners that include leading brands and household names in the retail, manufacturing, and consumer products spaces.
  • Design solutions that elegantly integrates our client’s solution with merchants’ existing technical infrastructure including eCommerce, POS, OMS, and ERP systems.
  • Impact customers and help build an application that is used in the real world and touched by people every day. 
  • Work closely with the product management and revenue leadership to deliver best-in-class technology solutions for interesting problems.  
  • Become passionate about quality, user experience, testing, and being a strong advocate for the end user.
  • Dive into complex technical problems and work collaboratively to understand and resolve merchant issues.
  • Be a driver of innovation within the team, the company, and with our client’s merchant partners, by looking for better ways to do the work they do, automate integrations, and build tools.
  • Define standard processes around leading practices and author documentation to support self-serve.


  • 3+ years experience in a Web Development or Software Engineering role.
  • 3+ years of customer-facing experience in a technology, consulting or financial services company.
  • 2+ years experience with Javascript and JQuery.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly explain technical concepts and solutions to partners.
  • Ability to own what you are building and see it through from end to end.
  • Experience integrating with Javascript SDKs.
  • Strong problem solving skills and curiosity to dive deep into the industry specific details.
  • Ability to perform in a high energy environment with dynamic job responsibilities and priorities.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working directly with merchants delivering eCommerce projects.
  • Experience integrating common eCommerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, SuiteCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento, etc.)
  • Experience with back-office OMS and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with Typescript, React and Node.js.
